This photograph is of Booths shop, located on Ashton Road East, Failsworth, Manchester. The shop was part of the Booth family for 3 generations, and was started by Edwin Booth (Matts Great Grandad) in the late 1800's.
The business was then handed down to Norman Booth (Matts Grandad) who successfully ran the shop for over 40 yeras with his wife Peggy by his side and then later handed down to his son John.
We started Failsworth Focus as we are passionate about keeping local businesses alive in the community. We hope that the magazine will encourage local people to use local tradesmen, shops and businesses helping to generate more work for them.
